Farm Futures: April 2024 Farming Adventures Await!

Hoppy Greetings Farm Friends!

As the days grow longer and the flowers begin to bloom, I (Celery), your furry friend from Vauxhall City Farm, am here to bring you the latest news and updates for April 2024.

But before we delve into the exciting news for this spring (such as our exclusive children’s birthday party package), let’s take a moment to reflect on the wonderful memories we created together this month.

Some highlights from March 2024!

We had a special delivery! No, not the lambs (soon….). Last Saturday we powered up our brand-new big screen and hosted our first live sports event with all three the Six Nations games, and it won’t stop there as we will be bringing you an array of screenings from international sport to Eurovision! Look out for announcements for upcoming events in our evening bar, Faith’s Place.

This March we made sure that the mums felt extra special on Mother’s Day at our Mothers Cuppa Corner. World Book Day was a blast! The children looked great dressed up as their favourite book characters, swapping books in our Book Swap Shop, and had a great time designing book covers for our wall of fame.

Finally, we hosted our first Gardening Club, a fantastic opportunity to spend time outdoors and learn to love garden with a great bunch of people. Click here for more details and future dates!

Q&A with me, Celery!

Q: What do you get if you put a cute bunny (me!) next to a bucket?

A: The spreading of farm-tastic vibes by making a donation to The Farm! Your generosity helps the farm flourish and creates a cosy home for me and my furry friends.

Please make a donation in support of The Farms mission to promote education, sustainability, and animal welfare. Your support means the world to us and helps us continue doing what we love.

We love parties at The Farm, and that’s why we have introduced a fantastic Spring offer.

SPRING OFFER!

Farmyard Updates!

There has been a few additions to our farmyard family! We have eight new chicken friends who lay egg-cellent eggs which we box fresh and sell on the farm.

We also welcomed two Peach-Faced Lovebirds, Lana and Banana.

Finally, the Lambing Season has started at The Farm and two of my sheep friends, Poppy & Petal are pregnant which means soon we will be having new babies at The Farm.

Education Updates!

March has seen our outdoor classroom bloom, school groups have braved the rainy days to explore our garden for minibeasts, whilst others have stayed under the shelter, meeting my small animal friends, getting to hold and pet them. We have also been able to offer a limited number of workshops for free to local schools and it has been wonderful to welcome lots of new faces to The Farm.

Young Farmers Spring Term 1 has come to an end, and we were delighted to see how much these enthusiastic, and passionate young people have learnt along the way, helping us to care for our livestock and learning how we can also care for our environment and create habitats for wildlife. Email Education Team to sign up for future programmes.

Conservation Club is back with a bang! This Easter holiday, we will be doing daily afternoon sessions for all ages to drop in and learn about how we can make a difference in our world. We can’t wait to see you there! Thank you to City Bridge Trust for supporting the Conservation Club!

Our Community Garden News!

April in the garden will bring lots of spring joy. Plants will be growing, and the garden will become fuller once again.

We should be harvesting rhubarb, chard and kale so please pop by to see what wonderful organic produce we have for sale…. as the harvesting begins.

The orchard should continue to blossom, and we should see leaves appear on all the new fruit trees. The wildflower meadow under the trees should be growing as the weather warms. Finally, look out around the pond and in the herb garden as they get creative.

Adopt Me OR Book a Meet & Greet!

Bond over the joy of interacting and creating lasting memories with me by booking a Meet & Greet session.

You can also Adopt Me for yourself, or your loved ones and it will be a wonderful gift and its support goes towards covering the expenses for our feed and care.
