Update about Coronavirus (COVID-19) – 25/03/2020

As of the 23rd March, the government have announced three new measures to deal with COVID-19.

  • Requiring people to stay at home, except for very limited purposes
  • Closing non-essential shops and community spaces
  • Stopping all gatherings of more than two people in public

Every citizen must comply with these new measures. The relevant authorities, including the police, will be given the powers to enforce them – including through fines and dispersing gatherings.

These measures are effective immediately. The Government will look again at these measures in three weeks, and relax them if the evidence shows this is possible.

In line with this, Vauxhall City Farm will remain closed and will follow government instructions on review every three weeks.

This situation is devastating for us, as Vauxhall City Farm relies on donations from visiting public and income generated through our bookable services.

Vauxhall City Farm was started in the 1970s on a building demolition site by a small group of people, wanting to make a difference in the community. We will do everything in our power to keep the farm going in these unprecedented times, aiming to still be here for the community, when London and the world returns to normal.

If you are in a position to do so, please help us to achieve this by donating as generously as you can. We now need your support more than ever!

Stay safe, and take care of each other.
