About Us

Vauxhall City Farm sits on land that was once rubble, following devastation during the blitz. The Farm was established in 1977 when local residents revitalised and repurposed the formerly derelict land, organising community, youth, animal care and horticultural programmes.

This new community shared a mission that remains unchanged - to use the setting of an urban farm to provide educational, recreational and therapeutic activities that:

• Support children, families and disadvantaged people to boost their confidence and aspirations
• Promote emotional, mental, social and physical well-being
• Develop environmental awareness and action
• Strengthen community cohesion
• Create enjoyment for members of the public

About the Role

Like other charities, Vauxhall City Farm has had to work hard to bring in funds and grow the donations we need to survive and continue serving our community. We’re now at an exciting but challenging time, with major development planned to meet a new vision for the farm – to become self-sustainable and evolve our offer (whilst keeping true to our roots!).

We’re looking for someone able to be flexible in supporting our dedicated core office team to implement new systems that help us operate more efficiently. We have many great volunteers who help look after our animals; now we need someone with an eye for detail and a skill in admin to evolve our work behind the scenes!

Below is a list of things we’d love your support on:

  • Working with our Fundraising Officer to research new opportunities and draft new material;
  • collecting data on the impact of our programmes, and evolving how we share this;
  • reviewing our archive files to see who we might have lost touch with over the years, and develop training for the Farm’s CRM software;
  • digitising our records and bringing ideas about new admin systems we might use;
  • generating new, exciting ways corporate supporters can volunteer and give back through getting involved at the Farm;
  • helping us better coordinate volunteering at the Farm
  • and anything else you feel you might bring to the Farm that benefits our mission…
