16 November 2020
Every year, a wreath handmade at Vauxhall City Farm, has brought the joy and scents of Christmas into people’s homes. 2020 has been challenging in many ways, for many of us, and we have no doubt that Christmas, too, will be unlike the festivities of previous years.
While we are unable to run our ever popular wreath making workshops at the farm this year, we want to try and help you keep to your traditions, even if the practicalities work slightly differently. We have come up with the next best thing. DIY Wreath Making Boxes!
How does it work?
Step 1: Order a DIY Wreath Making Box right here on our website
Step 2: Confirm your preferred day of picking up your DIY Wreath Making Box (pick up can be any time between 10am and 3pm)
Step 3: Pick up your DIY Wreath Making Box from Vauxhall City Farm on the day of your choosing (or have it delivered by Royal Mail, with additional P&P costs)
Step 4: Get the mulled wine or cider going on the stove as soon as you get home (make hot apple juice for the little ones!), while you unpack your DIY Wreath Making Box
Step 5: Get together with people in your household to create a beautiful handmade wreath, while you sip your hot drinks, knowing that the purchase and creation of your Christmas wreath is helping to support Vauxhall City Farm’s work in the local community. Perfect!
Optional, but a great way to get into the festive spirit:
Step 6: Take a photograph of your wreath and your household making the wreath, and share it on social media. Make sure you tag @vauxhallfarm on twitter and instagram, so we can share your creations with our followers!
What will be in my box?
A whole range of things, including the wreath making frame, festive bows, pine cones, a few dried and artificial festive add ons, a selection of fresh greenery such as rosemary sprigs, olive branches, and bay, fig, and grapevine leaves, florist wire to attach everything to your wreath frame, and a ‘How To’ Instructional Guide that will take you through all the steps of making your very own Christmas wreath.
Please be aware that many of the materials are collected fresh from our community garden, so it’s best to plan to pick up your DIY Wreath Making Box within a day or two of the date you have chosen to assemble your wreath at home.
How will I receive my DIY Wreath Making Box?
The quickest, freshest, and cheapest way to receive your DIY Wreath Making Box is by coming to pick it up from Vauxhall City Farm directly. While the farm may be closed to the public, staff are still working to look after the animals, tend the gardens, and assemble your DIY Wreath Making Boxes. On check out, please note what date you would like to come and collect your order, and we will ensure that your Box is ready for pick up between 10am and 3pm on the day of your choosing.
Last pick up: 23rd December
If you are unable to come and pick up your DIY Wreath Making Box you can include an order for packaging & postage, and we will send it to the address given on check out via Royal Mail. Please be aware that the boxes contain materials that are collected fresh, and Vauxhall City Farm cannot be held responsible for delays in shipping and any deterioration of the contents.
