The cost of horse riding is normally expensive and more often than not riding centres are too far away for inner city children to travel to. The club provides subsidised riding lessons for local disadvantaged children.
The objective of the Saturday Riding Club is to make the sport of Horse Riding and working with horses an opportunity for all members of the community regardless of where they live or their personal circumstances. The Riding centre is British Horse Society approved, which means children who wish to can work towards their BHS progressive riding test.
The Saturday Riding Club is run on a fortnightly basis and we ask each member to make a commitment to come every fortnight. All lessons need to be paid for as they are so heavily subsidised by the Farm. The minimum age for these lessons is 8 years old.
