Areas of Practicalities

Group Size
We work regularly with a range between 10 and 40 individuals per group. Some of the larger projects need more people. Vauxhall City Farm will consider facilitating challenges with larger numbers but this will affect the budgets and timings.

Challenge Duration
We plan on most of the work being done in a day, but larger projects can take longer, so if you have a preference, then we can plan accordingly. The average day lasts from around 9.30am till around 4pm.

Costs
The cost covers materials and supervision, as well as the staff fees to manage the project. The farm will work with you on an agreed budget according to your needs.

Breaks/Lunch
We provide tea/coffee and soft juice refreshments. However, participants have to bring their own lunches, but Vauxhall has a diverse range of places to eat locally.

Clothing
Due to the nature of life on the farm, we advise participants to dress accordingly: sweatshirts, old jumpers and jeans, wellington boots, sturdy shoes or trainers.

Health & Safety and Insurance
Vauxhall City Farm has public liability insurance and employer’s liability insurance, although you will need to check you own organisation’s cover. We can provide supervisors that have police checks and ‘First Aid at Work’ certificates. We would be happy to work with you if you need to do a risk assessment for a challenge for your organisation. All challenges start with a Health & Safety talk and an induction in using tools.
