Cow Milking Bryony, our life sized plastic cow can be milked all day long! Children really love the hands on experience of milking a cow, as well participating in the mini workshop where they play games and engage in role-play to learn about food production and how milk is made.
For school groups, this activity is only available when booked in conjunction with a talk tour.
Nursery Group Activities
Children of nursery age really love coming to the farm to meet all the animals. These talk tours focus on sights, sounds and smells of the farm. The children have the opportunity to participate in prop-based storytelling sessions and ‘rhyme time’ activities, where children sing along and play musical instruments to farm and animal based popular songs.
Pond dipping (available from early Spring 2009)
Our newly regenerated ecology garden features a pond, dipping area and bug shed for fun and educational pond dipping activities. Groups can ‘dip’ for creatures and use microscopes to identify what they have found. Children really love taking part in this practical activity and getting up close to mini beasts!
